Hello Everyone!
Words cannot describe how honored and humble I feel to be writing my first blog as your Miss Litchfield County 2010. I am blessed to have an incredible team supporting me and a slew of sister queens, with whom I have already become quite close. I also feel truly lucky to be the first Miss Litchfield County that has the Naugatuck Valley Team supporting her as well! This year is sure to be fantastic with so many wonderful people surrounding me!
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to my life! I am a 19-year-old sophomore at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT. I am a Psychology major, minoring in Marketing. Throughout my time within the Miss America Organization, I have been introduced to the Children;s Miracle Network, and with these degrees from UConn, I would ultimately like to become the Fundraising Coordinator for the CMN or another nonprofit organization. I currently have a 3.6 GPA and I will continue to work hard this semester to maintain that GPA. I am also a cheerleader on the club competitive team, and in my spare time I sing as much as I can. As a student at UConn, I am participating in Huskython, an 18 hour dance marathon to benefit the Children's Miracle Network. In order to find out more information, please e-mail me at 2010misslitchfieldcounty@gmail.com!
As Miss Litchfield County 2010, I will not only support the CMN, but I will also be advocating my own personal platform: The "Go, Fight, Win! The War Against Parkinson's Disease!" I have been an active member of the Michael J. Fox Foundation for over three years and I am currently in the process of planning my first fundraiser of the year! In the past, I have contributed over $2,000.00 to the MJFF, and I plan to keep up this progress, if not surpass it, as Miss Litchfield County.
I cannot wait to begin being a community servant to the Litchfield County, and I hope you are all as excited about this year as I am!
Fondly,
Cassandra Mastrianni
