Hello everyone!
I'm sorry you haven't heard from me, it's been a very busy two weeks! I would first like to extend my congratulations to the newest, and last, members of the Miss CT class of 2010: Amber Caron, Miss Nutmeg 2010, Dana Brooks, Miss Constitution 2010, and Sarah Lord, Miss Mountain Laurel 2010. The class is now complete, and I cannot wait to begin getting to know these girls a bit better in anticipation of our week together in New London!
My competitive cheerleading team for UConn had two competition this season. The first competition was not our best performance, but we still took first place! Our second competition we were competing against Quinnipiac University, a very talented team. We gave a much better performance and our team was thrilled with how well we executed our skills. We came in second to QU, but with how well we did and how happy we all were, I could have sworn we came in first! I now have a month off of cheerleading before tryouts for next season, which means I'll definitely have to be going to the gym to keep in shape for Miss CT!
Academically, my semester is going very well. I just received a 95 on my statistics exam, which means I am receiving an A so far in that class. I have all A's and B+'s to date, which means another semester with a 3.6 is perfectly tangible. I am happy to say that my major of Psychology is all that I thought it would be. After switching my major a few times, I am thrilled to be settled in and loving it!
As for UConn Idol, I, unfortunately, did not make it to the final ten. However, this by no means distracts or delays me from pursuing my love for music. There are other competitions, and there is always Miss CT to showcase my talent! By the way, I have picked my song! Al though I would like to keep it a surprise, I want you all to know that I am in love with the song and I am already having fun just practicing it! On that note, I have also picked all of my wardrobe for Miss CT. I hope that all of you come out to see me model it on the Miss CT stage in New London in June!
On a personal note, I am getting a puppy! I am so excited to be adopting (probably a Jack Russell Terrier) in May when school gets out. The one that I am looking at is beautiful, with brown and white patterns and floppy ears! I am planning to name her Jasmine, after Princess Jasmine in Aladdin, as most of our animals are named after Disney characters. I am so excited!
That's all for now! I will write again soon!
Until next time,
Cassandra Mastrianni
