Hello Again!
It's been much too long since my last post, and I apologize for that!! Things have been so busy! I actually got my wisdom teeth out since my last post, and although it was very frightening, it was completely worth it! No more headaches for me! :) Finals are just around the corner and I am getting a bit nervous! However, I did well last semester, so I am a bit more confident this time around. I also got my puppy!! She is a beautiful Pomeranian who is curious and a lovable ball of fluff! Her name is Samoa, and we call her Sammie for short, after my favorite girl scout cookie! We had some complications when w e first got her, but she is back to 100% and the best dog we could ever have asked for.
As for Miss Connecticut prep, I am still looking for a swimsuit, but other than that, I am completely set for wardrobe :) This is a first to be done with so much time until the pageant! I am holding numerous fundraisers to benefit the Children's Miracle Network and the Michael J. Fox Foundation. A Pancakes for Parkinson's will be coming up very soon, and I have two MAJOR fundraisers for the CMN planned. I have set a goal to surpass $5,000.00 this year, which is what I raised last year. Phyllis and the rest of my team are behind me 100% and I am so grateful to have them in my life.
I have als
o been named the Assistant Director of Fund raising for HuskyThon 2011!!! I have never felt more accomplished, as this is one more stepping stone toward my goal of being the Program Director at the CCMC. Last year was a phenomenal experience and afforded me the opportunity to meet a wonderful little girl named Kirsten. Kirsten had a heart condition and the CCMC saved her life. To the left is a picture of myself, my HuskyThon 2010 team, and Kirsten. To be part of the Board of Directors is an incredible feeling and allows me to be so much more involved. We are already starting for next year's HuskyThon!! This also means that I get to work closely with Scott Organek even more so than I do with the Miss Connecticut Organization!I am taking two summer classes this year, and found out that I could, quite possibly, graduate an entire year early! I am so excited to be able to stat graduate school early, and get closer to my career goal as early as possible! Well that's all for now, but please keep checking for updates on fundraisers!
With Love,
Cassandra
