To the left, you will see my Miss Connecticut 2010 headshot! I am so excited that these are posted, because it means that the pageant is right around the corner! I am feeling so ready for this pageant because I have almost exactly one month left, and all that's left to do is to fine tune all that I have. Last time I posted, I had no swimsuit. Now I do, and I also have a Gala gown!! I am so excited to wear it as Miss Litchfield County, and represent my area in front of the state contestants and board of directors. My wardrobe is beautiful, and my talent is the best it has ever been. I have been working with Patty May, who would be my recommendation to anyone looking for a vocal coach. She is fun and kind, but also strict and ambitious. She has brought my talent selection for state to a whole new level that I didn't think was possible to reach.
Memorial Day weekend is coming up quickly, and it is one very big weekend that I have been looking forward to since being crowned as Miss Litchfield County 2010. The Litchfield County team does four parades in one weekend, and I can't wait! Phyllis actually afforded me the opportunity to sing the national anthem at the Woodbury parade, ad I can't wait! I will work my hardest to make this county proud of my voice! It also gives me a chance to spend an entire weekend with my sister queens, who have been helping me so much when it comes to fundraising and support for Children's Miracle Network. They are incredible, and the really touches my heart that they are receiving no immediate gratification and are still pushing forth to help their big sister queen. I think that the past four months of hard work have been quite indicative of the type of women these girls will grow up to be. I am so proud.
Speaking of fundraising, I have my biggest fundraiser yet in just 11 days! I am holding a "Pay for Play" in conjunction with the Willimantic radio station I98.3. The DJ for this station was an active participant of the Miss America program for years, and continues to support us with advertisement and publicity. I want to publicly thank her for the support and guidance she has lent me through this fundraiser. A Pay for Play is a fundraiser through which listeners call in, and pledge a minimum monetary amount to hear a certain song. The higher the bid, the more of a chance that we will play your song. Those whose songs are not played will not be charged, those whose songs are will donate straight into my Miss America/Children's Miracle Network Account. I am so grateful for the help that I have received, and I am working hard to meet my goal of $10,000.00 by the end of my reign as Miss Litchfield County. I am also pailshaking at the North Canaan Stop&shop on June 19, and at the Litchfield Dunkin' Donuts on June 12. These will definitely help me toward my goal.
That's all for now!
